Guadalajara — Best Areas to Stay? (Anything besides Colonia Americana?)

Hey guys, I was in Guadalajara a few years ago and stayed in Colonia Americana near that Avenida Chapultepec. It was a pretty cool neighborhood, but I'm just wondering if there are other neighborhoods that any of you guys stayed in that might be a better fit. How is Zapopan? Has anyone been there?
