These cisgender patriarchal neo-colonial masculinity tourists are flying into economically vulnerable countries with their toxic exchange-rate privilege and exploiting women through what I can only describe as emotional imperialism.

As a male feminist ally, I spent nearly six minutes researching this issue on TikTok, and the evidence is horrifying.

These modern-day conquistadors are weaponizing Airbnb, WhatsApp, and currency conversion to gentrify entire dating ecosystems across the Global South. Medellín? Colonized. Bangkok? Colonized. São Paulo? Colonized. At this rate, no ethically sourced vegan astrology girl will remain untouched by patriarchal tourism capitalism.

And don’t even get me started on the psychological violence of “traditional dating expectations.” Many of these Passport Predators reportedly expect women to be “pleasant,” “feminine,” and “not obese,” which are literally white-supremacist colonial beauty standards rooted in late-stage capitalist oppression structures.
